Winter Guard

Missing marching band since the season has ended? Want to try your hand at the other half of the marching band? Come join Winter Guard!

What is Winter Guard? Much like the Color Guard you see out on the field with the marching band, Winter Guard is a choreographed routine involving flags, rifles, and sabers. It is set to a prerecorded song and performed and practiced indoors. Guard coach TaNisha Valentine joins us again for Winter Guard and Kiara Valentine is our captain.

Practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursday from 5:30-9pm in the gym at Fox Chapel Middle School. Competitions will be held on Saturdays beginning in late January, and a possible practice on Friday nights will be held before competitions.

Fees for Winter Guard depend on the number of people on the team. The more team members, the less cost, but it should run less than $250 for the season. Uniforms are separate and must be purchased individually by you

Transportation is not included either so we will need to carpool to events.

Premiere is the first competition of the season and everyone must perform. Finals are at the end of March.

Middle schoolers welcome! If you are going into 7th grade you are welcome to come join the winter guard provided your school does not offer the program. Written permission is required from your school’s principal to participate.

If you have not previously filled out forms for color guard this year, you can find those HERE.
